How to use Resize Image
- 1
Choose your image
Add a JPG, PNG, WebP or another image your browser can decode. The preview shows its original dimensions.
- 2
Set the width
Enter the width you need. With proportions locked, the height updates automatically. More control offers additional sizing options.
- 3
Preview and download
Check the output dimensions and switch between Before and After. Download the resized copy when it fits your needs.
Smaller dimensions do not always mean a smaller file
For example, a 180 × 120 image resized to 90 pixels wide becomes 90 × 60 when proportions are kept. Re-encoding can sometimes make a small source file larger. Check the output preview; use Compress Image when reducing file size is your main goal. Enlarging an image does not restore missing detail.
Common questions
Will resizing stretch my image?
The default keeps its proportions and derives the height from the width. Exact stretching is available under More control and can distort the image.
Can I resize several images?
Yes. Add a batch and apply the same settings. Check each image because different original proportions can produce different heights.
What happens to animated images?
Re-encoding an animated file creates a single still frame. Keep the original if you need to preserve animation.
